Wind Turbine Maintenance Simulator

Development of a training tool for learning and practising Gamesa wind turbine maintenance processes. The platform combined a theoretical tutorial, an interactive simulator and a reference area containing supporting materials.

The course was developed in Flash, and its theoretical content could be edited and expanded through a dedicated management tool. The editor was used to define the training screens, their text, visual resources and animations; the Flash course then interpreted this information and played the generated screens. This allowed the learning materials to be updated without manually building each screen within the application.

A virtual supervisor guided learners through different areas of the wind turbine, including the exterior, nacelle and hub. Users had to select the required tools and personal protective equipment and complete inspection, cleaning, lubrication and maintenance tasks on the different components.

The simulator included step-by-step instructions, time tracking and efficiency monitoring while procedures were being performed.

The project was delivered for Gamesa through Ibermática, with full development and programming.
